YAKIMA, Wash.- The series tie-breaking 3rd game of the series saw the Pickles bats outmatch the Pippins in an 11-8 win.

15 total hits for Portland paced the way, as the Pickles would hold their early lead from wire to wire.

5 hits would get things started in the top of the first, highlighted by a 3-run home run by Dalton Mashore. The Pickles would send 8 batters to the plate and led 4-0 by the time it was done.

Yakima Valley answered quickly in the bottom half when Liam McCallum continued his fantastic start to the season with a 2-RBI single to cut the lead in half.

Portland added another in the second on another RBI hit from Mashore and would explode for 4 more in the 4th to take a 9-2 lead.

Once again the Pippins battled from behind, answering with 4 in the bottom half on 2-RBI singles from Jackson Reed and Connor Coballes.

The 3-run deficit would be expanded 2 innings later when a 2-out, 2-RBI single from Keith Jones made it 11-6. 2-out success was a huge part of the win for Portland, who had 14 runners reach with 2-outs through the first 5 innings.

The Pippins left 4 stranded runners from the 5th to the 8th and their last chance came in the 9th. A double and a pair of walks had the bases loaded with nobody out.

David Morgan would kill the Pippins momentum with a huge 6-4-3 double play and only a pair of runs would cross in the 9th to cement an 11-8 Pippins loss.

After 14 games in 13 days, the Pippins enjoy an off day on Monday before hitting the road to take on Walla Walla this week.
