YAKIMA, Wash. -- This year's future Pippins continue to perform well on collegiate baseball diamonds this spring. Here's some of the biggest performances over the past week.
Dillon Plew (Washington State) had three hits in the series finale against Arizona State while batting in the No. 2 position. His .314 batting average is now third on the team, and he's hit safely in five of his past six games -- batting .410 over that span.
Bradlee Beesley (Cal Poly) is batting .470 (8 for 17) in his past four games after hitting just .190 in the first three weeks of the season. He's now hitting .299 on the season and has three multihit games in his past four appearances, including three hits to help secure a series win over UC Davis on Saturday.
Chase Farrell (Valencia HS) pitched his fifth complete game of the season with five strikeouts over Hart on Wednesday. He's 4-1 with a 1.75 ERA this spring, including a conference-leading 51 strikeouts.
Finally, Chase Wells (Seattle Univ./Naches Valley HS) had a three-hit game in Saturday's 12-9 loss to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He's hitting .311 with nine RBI in 24 games this spring.
