Cashier

Who you are: You’re an enthusiastic and hard-working employee who is quick on your feet and handle high pressure situations with little to no room for error. You’re good with money and able to multi-task for long periods of time. You have experience working in the food & beverage industry and behind a cash register. You’re patient and experienced with customer service. You work well with others and have good communication skills. You must be at least 16 years old.

What you’ll be doing: Concessions cashiers will be responsible for operating a register, handling cash and credit card transactions, taking customer orders for food and beverages, counting and maintaining their drawer, stocking and cleaning their register station, and assisting in both concessions set-up and clean-up. Additional responsibilities may be added. This position will pay minimum wage.

Expeditor/Food Prep

You have good listening abilities and are able to multi-task for long periods of time. You preferably have experience working in the food & beverage industry and behind a cash register. You’re patient and experienced with customer service. You work well with others and have good communication skills. You must be at least 16 years old.

What you’ll be doing: Concessions expo workers are responsible for assisting cashiers in orders and getting food items to them. Expo workers also track food usage and stock as needed, work with cooks to deliver food from grill to concessions, and assist in concessions set-up and clean-up. This position will pay minimum wage.

Grillmaster

The Yakima Valley Pippins will strive to provide their fans, sponsors, business partners, and investors with the very best in competitive baseball and entertainment, including atmosphere, comfort, food & beverage, safety, competition, fun and value.

Who you are: You’re an enthusiastic and hard-working employee who is quick on your feet and can handle high pressure situations with little to no room for error. You’re able to multi-task for long periods of time under the extreme conditions of being around a fully functioning outdoor grill. You have experience in the food & beverage industry, specifically in leading a team or being in a leadership role behind a grill and in a kitchen. You work well with others and have good communication skills. You must be at least 16 years old. You also will need to have a valid state Food Handler's Permit.

What you’ll be doing:  The grillmasters are responsible for setting up grill cook area and concessions as needed. Responsible for cooking concessions food, ensuring proper county health code practices and regulations are followed,  and direct grill cleanup including pots, pans, utensils, etc. Pay rate depends on experience, additional pay if returning employee. Possible tip income as well.

Cook’s Assistant

You’re able to multi-task for long periods of time under the extreme conditions of being around a fully functioning outdoor grill. What you’ll be doing:  The Cook’s assistant will assist the lead cook in preparing concessions food by wrapping grilled food and directing expo/runners in getting food to concessions. The cook’s assistant will also help in grill area set-up and clean-up. Pay rate depends on experience. Possible tip income as well.

Server/Runner

The Yakima Valley Pippins will strive to provide their fans, sponsors, business partners, and investors with the very best in competitive baseball and entertainment, including atmosphere, comfort, food & beverage, safety, competition, fun and value.

Who you are: You’re an enthusiastic and hard-working employee who is quick on your feet and can handle high pressure situations with little to no room for error. You’re able to focus and provide quality customer service as well as be good with money and be able to remember large orders. You have experience in the food & beverage industry, serving in a fast-paced environment. You work well with others and have good communication skills. You must be at least 16 years old. You also will need to have a valid state Food Handler's Permit. To serve alcohol, you must be 21 years old and also have a valid MAST alcohol permit.

What you’ll be doing:  Servers and runners are responsible for taking and delivering customer food and drink orders (including alcohol) in designated service areas, handling of both cash and credit card methods of payment, establish and maintain superior customer service standards with customers, and assist in service areas set-up and clean-up. Pay rate depends on experience, additional pay if returning employee. Possible tip income as well.

Bartender

Who we are: The Yakima Valley Pippins is a professionally operated baseball club in the West Coast League. The Yakima Valley Pippins will strive to provide their fans, sponsors, business partners, and investors with the very best in competitive baseball and entertainment, including atmosphere, comfort, food & beverage, safety, competition, fun and value.

Who you are: You’re an enthusiastic and hard-working employee who is quick on your feet and can handle high pressure situations with little to no room for error. You’re able to focus and provide quality customer service as well as be good with money and be able to remember large orders. You have bartending experience and can adjust to serving in a fast-paced environment. You work well with others and have good communication skills. You must be at least 21 years old. You also will need to have a valid state Food Handler's Permit, and a MAST alcohol server permit.

What you’ll be doing:  Bartenders are responsible for taking drink orders and pouring drinks for customers as well as for server staff, ensure legal and proper consumption of alcohol is maintained at stadium, count drawers, perform cashier duties when ringing in drink orders. Bartenders and bar backs are also responsible for beer and wine garden set-up and clean-up including stocking, inventory management, equipment cleaning, etc. Pay rate depends on experience, additional pay if returning employee. Possible tip income as well.
 

Internship Program

Internship Responsibilities:
 
The internship, which will start in mid-May and run through the middle of August, will expose participants to many facets of behind the scenes operations of a professionally run baseball team. Pippins interns will gain experience in all the primary areas of the business, including marketing, ticket sales, sponsorship, community relations, and retail sales. The primary responsibility of Pippins interns on game day is to be the driving force of the stadium operations team. Tasks include stadium set-up and breakdown, running on-field promotions, operating the guest services booth, working as an usher, ticket operations, and more. Interns also will keep weekly office hours to work with marketing, ticket sales, retail sales and other tasks. Consider the internship a full-time job that requires professionalism both at the office and at the stadium.

  • Must be available to be in Yakima from mid-May to mid-August
  • Must provide own housing and transportation
  • Must possess a passion for sports
  • Must possess an excellent work ethic, initiative, and a positive attitude. Our interns are directly involved with our fans every game and must bring their enthusiasm, positivity, and excitement to every single game. We seek to create a unique family environment at our stadium and our interns play a pivotal role in promoting this atmosphere.
